How ICT changed the way we Learn & Communicate ?
Over the years technology has been changing the way we live, communicate, educate and learn. Smartphones, laptops, social networks, unlimited access to the Internet, and not to mention very fast processes of transaction. Technology has become such a significant part of our everyday lives that we stopped noticing it. We even got to the point that we forgot about that we are humans. But are these changes for the good or bad? Have we become less creative and able to think deeply? Can we live with or without it?
Technology was been a great idea to the people since the word itself got its name, innovations and great inventions helped us to live a better life. As it continues to grow, more and more innovative inventions were created for humans to ease life, to make everything at a convenient, and more and more people got to adapt what technology can offer. Technology does its job very well, in the way we lived nowadays is nothing compare in the old days. Emails and chatheads compared with written letters and messenger himself/herself, instant deliverance of message compared with days and weeks of waiting just to receive the message itself from the sender.
These are a few examples of what technology can offer, but the real question still ends whether it is a bad or good impact. Technology on the other hand in terms on the way we learn and educate, throughout the years education have improved in a big way. Teachers used technology to be able to produce and teach students in a creative way. Technology has allowed teachers to create activities that students do at home, and then things can happen at school that would change the paradigm. That’s called “Flipped learning” , and inline with these students can have fun and more time with their family while learning. Academic is very important but mental health as well, and that’s the great thing about what technology has impacted. It allowed students to learn and to develop their skills while maintaining their mental health.
Technology is indeed a great big help to us in terms on how we learn and communicate, yes indeed there are good things to consider about this technology but it also can bring bad things. Since technology is an open window to every individual to be somebody they want, it is also an open window for risk of addiction and abuse, technology can corrupt a person mind in an instant motion because of its open convenient.
Yes there are good and bad impacts, but the only thing to do in order for us to abstain from benefiting its bad impacts, we should consider some measures like we have to balance our time in terms of using technology, yes it is a convenient but we have to bare in mind that still this technology that we so called are still tools, extended helping hand and not a replacement, for we are the greatest technology ever !
